Saturdays are Back at Dental Excel Bracken Ridge

Brand new frontage from inside Dental Excel Bracken Ridge before window decals

There have been some changes at Dental Excel Bracken Ridge over the past few months. If you’ve been past the frontage lately, you will already have seen one of them. Recently, renovations were completed and now you will find Susan in a more spacious and airy reception area to welcome you.

We’re also excited to announce that Saturday appointments are back at Bracken Ridge. This is due to the arrival of not just one new dentist, but two. Dr Victoria is ready to welcome you back to Saturdays and Dr Chris is proving popular with patients of all ages.

Why do dental appointments on Saturday?

It isn’t always easy to make and keep a dental appointment during working hours, so we know how handy it is to have the option of a weekend appointment. Now Dr Victoria has joined the Bracken Ridge team, we’re so pleased to be able to offer Saturdays again.

We also open later until 6pm on Mondays and Thursdays, and open early at 7:30am on Fridays every week to give you more flexibility.

More about our renovations

The shop frontage was recently replaced and updated to a more modern design. Because some alterations then had to be made to the entrance, it left a much more spacious reception area and allowed more light to stream through the door. We have now installed new window graphics, and everything has a fresh, new look and feels airy and brighter inside.

The Bracken Ridge location has benefited from a breath of fresh air and now with new dentists too, it really is an exciting time at your local Dental Excel. And we aren’t finished yet! Watch this space for more news about your local Brisbane dentists or follow us on Facebook for the latest updates.

Book your appointment with Dr Chris or Dr Victoria on (07) 3261 4222 or visit the Dental Excel Bracken Ridge page here to find out more.

Celebrating International Women’s Day at Dental Excel

IWD 2021 #ChooseToChallenge

International Womens Day falls on March 8th, and this year it’s a Monday. To mark this special day here at Dental Excel, we will be wearing purple and green and giving away free pamper bags to all our female patients – sorry fella’s!

International Womens Day is celebrated every year in Australia and all over the world in many ways. A traditional day for celebrating women’s rights, it is a popular time for fundraising for women’s charities. IWD is also used as a platform for raising awareness about gender equality and highlighting other issues that affect women.

The history of International Womens Day

IWD was recognised and celebrated on March 8th in 1975 by the United Nations during International Women’s Year. Since then, it has kept the date and gained ground as a worldwide day to recognise and celebrate women.

The roots of IWD go back much further, however. The United Nations research showed that it started in America as National Women’s Day in February 1909. The Socialist Party of America recognised the plight of protesting workers during the previous year, who campaigned for better working conditions. The following year saw the introduction of Women’s Day many miles away in Denmark and this centred around the continuing fight for suffrage.

IWD caught on across Europe and by 1911 more than one million people gathered on March 19th to mark International Women’s Day. Rallies were organised in support of working conditions, pay, rights and representation. Today, IWD has its own logo and is supported by millions of individuals, businesses and organisations all over the world.

IWD at Dental Excel

At all five Dental Excel locations, we will be supporting and celebrating International Womens Day with you. We will be wearing purple and green and raising our hands in support of this years’ theme #ChooseToChallenge and we’ll be giving every female patient a mini pamper pack to mark her day. Find out more about IWD on the official website here.

The UN also have a theme for IWD this year to highlight the COVID-19 pandemic and dedication from women. Women in Leadership – Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world. Find out more about this years’ UN focus for IWD here.

How are you celebrating International Women’s Day this year? Head on over to our Facebook page and let us know – send us your IWD photos.

Dental Excel Wurtulla Give $100 Gift to K’s for Kids

Recently, the staff at Dental Excel Wurtulla were given a very generous thank you gift of $100 by a loyal patient. As it was such a lot of money, the girls decided they wanted to do something special with it and spent a few weeks researching local good causes. This is when they came across K’s for Kids.

What is K’s for Kids?

91.9 Sea FM Radio have been raising funds for this amazing initiative run by Inclusive Kids to provide new school shoes for children locally. This seemed like the perfect cause and the girls at Dental Excel Wurtulla have donated their $100 to benefit local kids.

Fun at the Beerwah Street Party 2017 with Dental Excel

Beerwah Street Party 2017 | Fun with Dental ExcelDental Excel had so much fun at the annual Beerwah Street Party this year. We really enjoy connecting with the community, sharing our commitment to your dental health and having some fun at the same time!

The annual Beerwah Street Party was first introduced by the Sunshine Coast Council in 2014 to highlight and celebrate the recently-completed improvements to the area.

The event was such a huge success, and attracted far more people than was originally expected, that an independent committee was formed to make the event an annual one with the support and enthusiasm of all the local businesses on Simpson Street.

This year marked the fourth annual street party in Beerwah and was another great success, with thousands of Sunshine Coast residents turning out to take part in the festivities. The local Beerwah business community joined in with street stalls selling everything that Beerwah has to offer, and some amazing food to keep everyone happy and well fed during the entire event.

Dental Excel at the Beerwah Street Party 2017

Beerwah Dentists Having Fun | Beerwah Street Party 2017The Dental Excel stand saw many locals participate in our Instabooth, using ‘dental props’ to pose for photos. Our dentists joined in the fun, embracing the cardboard props and generally being not to serious!

David’s wire loop game took some concentration to complete, but was a huge success and drew some laughs too! Our ‘party bags’ flew out, and all-in-all, the evening was enjoyed by everyone. The Beerwah Street Party is a great way to begin getting ready for Christmas, and we enjoy connecting with our locals in a fun way. Not everyone embraces the dentists chair, but we are a great bunch of people, and do our best to make everyone feel at ease with us.

Dental Excel Beerwah dentists know how to have some fun, as well as how to care for our local residents’ oral health. Dentists don’t have to be dull! We are already looking forward to next year’s event 😊
